Artists Encounter is an intensive capacity building programme which includes professional development and/or programming workshops as well as networking opportunities. Artists Encounter is a flexible programme that takes place at Spring Forward with local artists, but it can be held in other contexts such in dance education centres.
Artists based in Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Baden-Württemberg
Ten local artists were selected through an open call, who attended a workshop in collaborating internationally and then followed the festival programme.
This will be the second edition of Artists Encounter, a programme addressed to dance makers interested in developing and/or expanding their connections with international artists and presenters.
They will attend a professional development workshop led by Anikó Rácz, Artistic Director of SÍN Arts Centre Hungary, focusing on working in an international context and artistic career development. The Artists Encounter participants will also have free access to the 20 performances of the Spring Forward Festival 2024 and attend events, talks and receptions throughout, in Darmstadt, Wiesbaden and Mainz.

They were joined by artists Giorgia Lolli (Italy) and Barbara Kaneratonni Diabo (Québec) to attend a professional development workshop led by Anikó Rácz, Artistic Director of SÍN Arts Center Hungary, focusing on working in an international context and artistic career development. The Artists’ Encounter participants also had free access to the 21 performances of the Spring Forward Festival and attend events, talks and receptions throughout.
